BioWare has released a short story trailer for the SWTOR 7.0 Legacy of the Sith expansion. But can we extract new information out of it?

The trailer itself didn’t reveal much in terms of new information, though it seems the new story on Manaan will be quite action-packed.

We got glimpses of several of the new characters that play a major part in the story on Manaan. BioWare introduced us to these characters in their story live stream

Darth Norok

This Sith is connected to Imperial Logistics, which is part of the Sphere of Civil Administration that is helmed by Darth Vowran or Darth Shaar depending on your choices.

The current Sith Emperor mentioned at the end of the Onslaught story that “the Dark Council is best used for administrative purposes, not conducting critical wartime activities”, so I doubt we’ll be interacting with the Dark Council very much in the new Manaan story.

Darth Norok is meant to represent Sith involvement on Manaan. In the livestream, BioWare said that Norok is a ruthless and determined Sith Lord that has supposedly never lost a lightsaber duel.

Colonel Gallo

I think this shot from the trailer is depicting Colonel Gallo (center), but it’s hard to tell. Regardless, Colonel Gallo is a female, Basic-speaking Selkath that has begrudgingly aligned with Republic players. She doesn’t like either faction but wants to get the Empire out of Manaan.

Colonel Korrd

He sends Anri to recruit the player character to the cause on Manaan and is working with Darth Norok to acquire Kolto.

It seems he has been captured by the Selkath. Since you’re working with the Selkath as the Republic, it’s possible that this is one of your main quest objectives.

Twi’lek and Eyes from previous trailer

Interestingly, the trailer didn’t show us the teal Twi’lek featured at the bottom of the Legacy of the Sith loading screen. It’s possible that they are meant to represent the player character, but this kind of loading screen has never included the player character before.

We still don’t know who those eyes belong to from the 10 Year Celebration Montage trailer either. My money is on the eyes belonging to that Twi’lek.

Trailer Eyes

Alongside this story trailer, BioWare announced a number of changes and tweaks to how EndGame Gearing will work in SWTOR 7.0. Don’t miss this info. It will all be included in the in-depth EndGame gearing Guide for 7.0, of course.

Concluding thoughts

The trailer was pretty light on actual new information, though that’s to be expected from a 1-minute teaser. BioWare still needs to convince players that the changes they’re making are actually good.

I’m excited for 7.0, but too many people are still dreading the release of the expansion, so trailers like this don’t generate as much hype as they should.
